How to Use Mithril in Kingshot 2026: Gear Imbuement and Upgrade Priority

EvanEvan

Mithril is essential for pushing Legendary Hero Gear beyond its Imbuement checkpoints, but spending it too early can leave valuable equipment stuck halfway. This guide explains how to use Mithril in Kingshot, when Gear Imbuement becomes available, and which pieces deserve your resources first.

Where Mithril Fits into Hero Gear Progression

Mithril Fits

Mithril is used for Gear Imbuement, not ordinary Gear Enhancement. It also does not directly turn Mythic Gear into Legendary Gear.

Hero Gear first goes through Gear Ascension. An eligible Mythic piece is converted into Legendary Gear, which players often call Red Gear because of its quality color. After Ascension, the equipment begins a new enhancement path. Mithril is then required at specific points to unlock further progress.

This explains why Mithril may sit in your inventory without an available use. Until Gear Ascension is active in your kingdom and an eligible piece has reached the correct stage, there is nothing to imbue.

Mithril is part of the Hero Gear system and has no role in Governor Gear upgrades.

How to Use Mithril in Kingshot

Begin by selecting a useful Mythic Gear piece from your main combat set. Raise it to Enhancement Level 100 and Mastery Level 10, then complete Gear Ascension once the feature is available and you have the required material Gear.

After the piece becomes Legendary, continue enhancing it until it reaches Legendary +20. At that point, the equipment cannot progress further until you provide the Mithril and additional Mythic Gear displayed on the Imbuement screen. Completing the Imbuement unlocks the next enhancement range.

The same process repeats at Legendary +40, +60, +80 and +100. Each piece can currently pass through five Imbuement gates.

What It Does

First

Legendary +20

Opens progression beyond +20

Second

Legendary +40

Opens progression beyond +40

Third

Legendary +60

Opens progression beyond +60

Fourth

Legendary +80

Opens progression beyond +80

Fifth

Legendary +100

Completes the current Imbuement path

These are post-Ascension levels. Legendary +20 comes after the equipment has already reached Mythic Enhancement Level 100, so it should not be confused with an ordinary Level 20 Mythic piece.

The exact Mithril and material Gear requirements appear in the upgrade interface. Check the current cost before committing Enhancement XP or spare Gear, particularly after major game updates.

When Is Gear Ready for Ascension?

A Mythic Hero Gear piece must reach Enhancement Level 100 and Mastery Level 10 before it becomes eligible for Gear Ascension. The Ascension feature must also be available in your kingdom, which depends on kingdom progression rather than one fixed unlock day shared by every server.

Meeting these conditions only makes the equipment eligible. You must still provide the material Gear shown on the Ascension screen before the piece can become Legendary.

Once Ascended, the equipment starts its Legendary enhancement path. The first Mithril requirement does not appear immediately; it appears when the piece reaches its first Imbuement checkpoint.

Which Gear Should Use Mithril First?

The best Mithril target is usually part of the Hero Gear set supporting your strongest march. Avoid choosing a piece only because it happens to become eligible first.

The safest general priorities are Infantry Health and the Lethality pieces for your main damage troop.

Helmets and Boots

Infantry stands at the front of the formation, so extra Health helps it remain alive and protect the damage dealers behind it. Cavalry and Archer Helmets and Boots improve Lethality, making them strong options for increasing offensive performance.

For many accounts, Infantry Armor and Gloves are sensible first targets. The next choice should depend on whether Cavalry or Archers contribute more damage in your current march. Hero generation, formation, research and alliance role can all influence that decision, so there is no universal rule that one damage troop must always be upgraded before the other.

A practical approach is to complete one Infantry Health checkpoint, then invest in the Lethality Gear used by your main damage line. Secondary sets can wait until the core march has a stable foundation.

How Much Mithril Does One Legendary Gear Piece Need?

Mithril costs do not rise gently as Legendary Gear progresses. Each Imbuement gate is more demanding than the last, and spare Mythic Gear becomes just as important as Mithril itself.

The initial Ascension into Legendary Gear requires two additional Mythic pieces but no Mithril. Mithril spending begins at Legendary +20, then returns at +40, +60, +80 and +100.

Completing the full path for one piece currently takes 150 Mithril and 35 additional Mythic Gear pieces. Two Mythic pieces are used for the initial Ascension, while the five Imbuement gates consume the remaining 33.

The more useful takeaway is how heavily the cost is weighted toward the end. Reaching Legendary +60 uses 60 Mithril, but the final two gates alone require another 90. In other words, 60% of the total Mithril cost is concentrated at +80 and +100. Those same two gates also consume 20 Mythic Gear pieces—more than half of the full 35-piece requirement.

This makes Legendary +60 a natural planning point for many accounts. Pushing every piece toward +100 can drain Mithril and Mythic Gear surprisingly fast, while completing +20 or +40 on several carefully chosen core pieces may produce a more balanced main march.

Where to Get Mithril

Mithril becomes available mainly through late-game shops and rotating events. Its availability may depend on your kingdom’s progress, so check the current exchange lists before planning around a specific source.

  • Arena Shop

The Arena Shop is one of the more common places to find Mithril once it has been added to your kingdom’s shop rotation. Regular Arena participation helps you build enough currency to exchange for it without relying entirely on limited-time offers.

  • Champagne Fair

Mithril may also appear in the Champagne Fair. This event uses Trading Vouchers to exchange for valuable development materials, making it another useful source when Legendary Gear progression becomes relevant. Since the Fair is not permanently open, save your vouchers and check the available rewards whenever it returns.

  • Trial Shop and Limited Offers

As your kingdom develops, Mithril may later appear in the Trial Shop. It can also be included in selected events or paid packs, although these sources are not always available and their contents may rotate.

Start saving Mithril as Gear Ascension approaches, but do not spend all your shop currency on it too early. Enhancement XP and spare Mythic Gear are equally important, and you will need all three resources ready to complete an Imbuement checkpoint.

Plan for a Full Imbuement Checkpoint

Mithril is most effective when you plan around a complete checkpoint rather than pushing equipment one level at a time without checking the final cost.

For example, raising a Legendary piece close to +20 does not help much if you lack the Mithril or spare Mythic Gear needed to cross the gate. The item will simply stop there until the remaining materials are available.

Before starting a major push, make sure you have enough Enhancement XP to reach the next gate, enough Mithril to complete the Imbuement, and enough Mythic Gear to satisfy the material requirement. Forgehammers should also be considered as part of your wider Hero Gear plan, even though Mastery Level 10 is specifically required for the initial Ascension rather than every Imbuement gate.

A smaller number of completed core pieces usually performs better than an inventory full of Legendary Gear stalled before its next checkpoint.

Kingshot Mithril FAQ

1. What is Mithril used for in Kingshot?

Mithril is used to complete Gear Imbuement checkpoints on Legendary Hero Gear after the original Mythic piece has finished Gear Ascension.

2. Why can’t I use my Mithril?

Gear Ascension may not be available in your kingdom, the Mythic Gear may not have reached Enhancement Level 100 and Mastery Level 10, or the Ascended Legendary Gear may not yet be at an Imbuement checkpoint.

3. Does Mithril turn Mythic Gear into Legendary Gear?

No. Mythic Gear must first complete Gear Ascension. Mithril is used later to unlock further Legendary enhancement.

4. How many times can Legendary Gear be imbued?

A Legendary Gear piece currently has five Imbuement gates at +20, +40, +60, +80 and +100.

5. Which Gear should receive Mithril first?

Infantry Armor and Gloves are strong general starting points because they improve frontline Health. Afterward, prioritize Cavalry or Archer Helmets and Boots based on the main damage troop in your strongest march.
