Kingshot Officer Project Event Guide: How to Actually Get Value From the Materials You Spend

PyrePyre

The Kingshot Officer Project is not a "spend everything you've been hoarding" event. It's a materials timing event. The score you earn is real, but the value you extract depends entirely on whether the materials you spend were pointed at the right upgrade, in the right event variant, at the right breakpoint. This guide breaks down how the event works, what each variant rewards, and — most importantly — how to decide when spending is actually worth it.

What Officer Project Actually Is

What Officer Project Actually Is

Officer Project is a two-day progression event that unlocks once your kingdom reaches the Age of Truegold. It rewards permanent account progression actions — upgrading gear, raising charm scores, training troops, using hero shards — rather than combat performance. Defeating other players, winning rallies, or gathering resources does not generate Officer Project points unless the live task list specifically includes that action.

The event has two rotating variants, and the start day determines which one is active:

  • Type A / Type 1 (Wednesday): Focused on Governor Charms, troop training, Mithril, Forgehammers, and exclusive Hero Widgets. The final milestone reward is Forgehammers.
  • Type B / Type 2 (Sunday): Focused on Governor Gear progression and Hero Shards, alongside Forgehammers and Widgets. The final milestone reward is Charm Designs.

Both variants run for two days, feature four milestone rewards, and include an Honor Ranking leaderboard for competitive players.

This distinction matters more than most guides admit. If you spend your charm materials during a Sunday Type B window, you're earning zero points for them. If you burn Hero Shards on a Wednesday Type A window, same problem. The event doesn't punish you for saving — it punishes you for spending at the wrong time.

The Two Officer Project Variants: A Side-by-Side Breakdown

The Two Officer Project Variants: A Side-by-Side Breakdown

Understanding what scores in each variant is the foundation of every good decision. The shared tasks — Hero Gear Forgehammers at 6,000 points per use and Hero Exclusive Gear Widgets at 12,000 points per use — score in both variants. Everything else is variant-specific.

Type A (Wednesday): Charms, Troops, and Heavy Materials

This variant is where you offload the resources that support your long-term charm and troop progression. The scoring tasks include:

  • Raise Governor Gear Charm max score by 1: 70 points per point of charm score increase
  • Use 1 Mithril: 60,000 points — the single highest point-per-unit action in the event
  • Use 1 Hero Gear Forgehammer: 6,000 points
  • Use 1 Widget for Hero Exclusive Gear: 12,000 points
  • Train troops: Points scale from 1 point per Level 1 troop up to 37 points per Level 11 troop (requires War Academy unlock)

The Mithril rate is eye-catching, but that's exactly the trap. 60,000 points from a single unit feels enormous, and it is — but Mithril is also one of the rarest upgrade materials in the game. Spending it purely because the point number looks big, without a clear next breakpoint in your Mythic Hero Gear progression, is the definition of event FOMO in action.

Charm score progression also has its own point curve that isn't obvious from the flat "70 points per charm score" task description. Individual charm levels award escalating points: Charm Level 1 gives 625 points, while Charm Level 11 gives 16,000 points. That means the real value of charm upgrades during Type A depends heavily on which charm levels you're crossing.

Type B (Sunday): Gear, Shards, and Ascension Timing

The Sunday variant shifts the scoring focus toward Governor Gear and hero shard usage:

  • Raise Governor Gear max score by 1: 70 points per point of gear score increase
  • Use Rare Hero Shards: 350 points per shard
  • Use Epic Hero Shards: 1,220 points per shard
  • Use Mythic Hero Shards: 3,040 points per shard
  • Use 1 Hero Gear Forgehammer: 6,000 points (shared with Type A)
  • Use 1 Widget for Hero Exclusive Gear: 12,000 points (shared with Type A)

Governor Gear score also has a rarity-based point curve. Uncommon gear gives 1,125 points, Rare gives 3,000, Epic gives roughly 3,230, and Mythic gives 6,250 — with star levels and tiers adding further variation. The practical takeaway is that not all gear upgrades are equal when it comes to Officer Project scoring. The gear piece you upgrade matters as much as the decision to upgrade at all.

Hero Shards deserve particular caution here. Mythic Hero Shards at 3,040 points each sound lucrative, but shards are the scarcest hero progression resource in the game. If you're spending Mythic Shards to chase a milestone in an event that wasn't part of your broader hero ascension plan, you're trading long-term hero power for short-term event points. That's a bad trade almost every time.

Rewards: Milestones, Leaderboards, and the F2P Reality

Rewards: Milestones, Leaderboards, and the F2P Reality

Officer Project rewards come in two layers: Milestone Rewards and Leaderboard Rewards.

Milestone Rewards are unlocked by reaching point thresholds during the event. There are four milestones total, and the reward quality depends on your server's current stage — older servers receive better rewards. This means the same point total can yield meaningfully different value depending on when your kingdom unlocked the event.

Leaderboard Rewards are distributed after the event ends to the top 1,000 players by total points. For players who want to compete, this is a legitimate goal. But for F2P and low-spending players, the wiki's own guidance is blunt: do not chase a leaderboard position. The resources required to secure a top-1,000 spot almost never return equivalent value through the leaderboard prizes alone.

The rational play for most players is simple. Calculate the smallest resource mix that crosses your next reachable milestone. Spend exactly that. Stop. The milestone rewards are guaranteed value; leaderboard positioning is a gamble against players with deeper inventories.

The Core Strategy: Spend Only When the Math Works

The most important principle in Officer Project isn't a task list or a point table. It's a mindset. The event rewards discipline, not activity. A visible push that empties your inventory can still be a bad decision if it blocks a stronger future window.

The Core Strategy: Spend Only When the Math Works

Here's the decision framework that actually holds up:

Push harder if:

  • The live event variant matches the materials you've saved
  • The next gear or charm breakpoint is efficient enough to justify the spend
  • The push doesn't sabotage a stronger future event window like KvK or Armament Competition

Stay selective if:

  • You'd be spending the wrong material for the current rotation
  • The next breakpoint is weak and only looks appealing because the event is live
  • You're chasing milestone emotion rather than real account value

This framework matters because Officer Project doesn't exist in a vacuum. Governor Gear, Charm materials, Forgehammers, and Hero Shards all appear in multiple events — Armament Competition, KvK preparation phases, and recurring growth events among them. Spending a shared resource in Officer Project when it would reach a better combined breakpoint in another event is a net loss, even if the Officer Project screen shows a satisfying score increase.

Common Mistakes That Cost You Materials

Spending before checking the variant. The single most avoidable error. If the event is live and you haven't confirmed Wednesday Type A versus Sunday Type B, you don't know what scores. Check the event calendar before touching anything.

Treating Mithril as a point source. 60,000 points is a lot. But Mithril is not a renewable resource. If your Mythic Hero Gear isn't at a breakpoint where that Mithril meaningfully improves your account, the points aren't worth the material.

Dumping Hero Shards for milestone points. Shards fuel hero ascension, which is permanent power. Trading them for event points that unlock a one-time reward crate is almost always a net negative unless the milestone reward specifically gives you something you can't get otherwise.

Ignoring the resource overlap with KvK and Armament. A material spent here is a material you can't spend there. If Armament Competition is coming and you need those Forgehammers for a set bonus breakpoint, Officer Project isn't the right window.

Chasing leaderboard placement as a mid-spender. The top 1,000 cutoff sounds accessible until you see what dedicated players put in. The wiki's warning exists for a reason.

Final Thoughts

Officer Project is one of the most misunderstood events in Kingshot because it looks like a straightforward "spend to score" loop. It isn't. It's a materials efficiency test dressed up as a scoring event. The players who get the most out of it aren't the ones who spend the most — they're the ones who spend at the right time, on the right upgrades, and stop when the math stops working.

Save your Charm materials, troop batches, Mithril, Forgehammers, and Widgets for Wednesday. Save your Governor Gear materials and Hero Shards for Sunday. Check the event calendar before every rotation. And remember that the best Officer Project score is the one that leaves you with materials for the next event that actually matters.
