Akane Rin Core Mechanics
Akane Rin's damage revolves around String Energy, Overtone, Reverb Field, and Synced Resonance.
String Energy
Akane Rin gains String Energy when her Basic Attacks and certain other attacks deal damage.
String Energy is capped at 30.
Once she reaches 30 String Energy, she can cast the empowered Redirect Skill Synced Resonance as long as either Overtone or Reverb Field is active.
Her basic combat loop is:
Set up Overtone / Reverb Field → build String Energy with Basic Attacks → cast Synced Resonance at 30 Energy → repeat.
Overtone: Single-Target Mode
Press Rhythm Wave to inflict Overtone on the target for 25s.
Akane Rin's Basic Attacks can then be relayed over long range to the target affected by Overtone, with the relayed Basic Attack's DMG Ratio increased by 32.5%.
At 30 String Energy, casting Synced Resonance deals one instance of massive single-target Lakshana DMG to the marked enemy.
At Lv.10, the current DMG Ratio is:
Overtone: Synced Resonance — 1999%
This is the main mode for bosses and single elite targets.
Reverb Field: AoE Mode
Hold Rhythm Wave to deploy a Reverb Field for 25s.
Akane Rin's Basic Attacks are relayed through the field to all enemies within range, dealing additional Basic Attack DMG with a 36% extra DMG bonus.
At 30 String Energy, Synced Resonance deals one instance of powerful AoE Lakshana DMG to enemies inside the field.
At Lv.10, the current DMG Ratio is:
Reverb Field: Synced Resonance — 1599.2%
The multiplier is lower than the single-target version, but it can hit an entire group at once.
Keep in mind that Overtone and Reverb Field cannot exist at the same time. Successfully establishing one replaces the other.
Akane Rin Skill Breakdown
Basic Attack: Stringblade
Akane Rin alternates between her electric guitar and sound blades to perform up to four consecutive attacks, dealing Lakshana DMG.
Besides dealing damage, her Basic Attack is also a major source of String Energy.
That means her Basic Attack string is a core part of the rotation rather than filler between skills.
Redirect Skill: Rhythm Wave
This is the most important part of Akane Rin's kit.
Press:
Apply Overtone → relay and strengthen single-target Basic Attacks → use Synced Resonance for heavy single-target damage.
Hold:
Deploy Reverb Field → relay Basic Attacks across the area → use Synced Resonance for AoE damage.
Synced Resonance consumes 30 String Energy when it hits, but:
- It consumes no String Energy if it misses
- It has no independent cooldown
- It does not affect Rhythm Wave's normal cooldown
- It does not refresh the remaining duration of Overtone or Reverb Field
Do not focus so hard on Synced Resonance that you forget Overtone and Reverb Field only last 25 seconds.
Ultimate: Sonic Boom
The first stage deals Lakshana DMG to enemies in the target area and puts Akane Rin into Solo Cadenza.
During the latter half of Solo Cadenza, you can cast the Ultimate again to unleash a second high-damage area attack.
Current Lv.10 values:
|
Stage |
DMG Ratio |
|
First Stage |
239.9% |
|
Second Stage |
1999% |
|
Ultimate Energy |
100 |
After casting Sonic Boom, Akane Rin's DMG dealt increases by 20% for 25s.
In practice, the first Ultimate cast works best as the start of her main burst window.
Early preview information described the second stage as triggering automatically when Solo Cadenza ended, while the more detailed skill data used for this guide states that it must be cast manually during the latter half of Solo Cadenza.
Support Skill: Altered Chord
Akane Rin strikes the strings with a powerful strum, dealing one instance of Lakshana DMG and triggering a Reaction.
Compared with her Basic Attack, Redirect Skill, and Ultimate, Altered Chord is not a major source of her damage, so it can be leveled later.
Passive: Perfect Pitch
Akane Rin's core Esper Cycle passive currently revolves around Remora.
After the team triggers Remora for the first time, Akane Rin gains an enhancement that lasts until she leaves combat.
- Overtone can periodically apply Remora to its marked target
- Reverb Field can periodically apply Remora to all enemies within range
- When the team reapplies Remora to a target already affected by it, Akane Rin deals additional Lakshana DMG
Some cooldown and multiplier values are still shown as X in the current data, so this guide does not lock in exact numbers yet.
Passive: Starlit Anthem
After casting Sonic Boom, Akane Rin's DMG dealt increases by 20% for 25s.
Repeated triggers reset the duration.
This is why opening a burst rotation with the first stage of Sonic Boom usually makes sense.
Akane Rin Skill Priority
Unlock her two main passives first:
Perfect Pitch + Starlit Anthem
Then prioritize:
Rhythm Wave > Stringblade ≈ Sonic Boom > Altered Chord
Rhythm Wave directly controls Overtone, Reverb Field, and Synced Resonance, making it the center of her entire damage loop.
Her Basic Attacks are relayed through Overtone or Reverb Field and also build String Energy, so Stringblade should not be neglected.
Sonic Boom also deserves investment because its second stage has a high multiplier and activates Starlit Anthem's 20% personal DMG bonus.
Akane Rin Signature Arc: Far Side of the Moon

Rarity: 5⭐ | ATK: 570 | CRIT DMG: 48%
Its current effect is built directly around Akane Rin's rotation:
- After a Basic Attack deals damage, Redirect Skill DMG increases and can stack
- After casting a Redirect Skill, Basic Attack DMG increases
- While both effects are active, Akane Rin gains additional Lakshana DMG
- The Arc also provides CRIT Rate through its effect
In short:
Basic Attacks buff Rhythm Wave → Rhythm Wave buffs Basic Attacks → keeping both effects active adds Lakshana DMG.
This lines up perfectly with Akane Rin's Basic Attack + String Energy + Synced Resonance loop, so Far Side of the Moon is the natural premium choice if you plan to build her as a long-term Main DPS.
If you do not have her signature Arc, use an offensive Liquid Arc you already own as a temporary option rather than overinvesting in a placeholder.

Street Boxer is the most straightforward Lakshana DPS Cartridge set for Akane Rin.

This set gives Akane Rin:
- Lakshana DMG
- CRIT Rate
Both are exactly what a direct-damage Main DPS wants.
Cartridge Main Stat
Prioritize:
Lakshana DMG / CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
If you have Far Side of the Moon, its effect already provides CRIT Rate, so your Cartridge can usually put more value into:
CRIT DMG or Lakshana DMG
Without her signature Arc, adjust toward CRIT Rate as needed to stabilize your stats.
Substats
Recommended priority:
CRIT Rate ≈ CRIT DMG > Universal DMG > ATK% > Other Stats
Akane Rin is a straightforward direct-damage Main DPS, so do not sacrifice too much CRIT or ATK just to chase Cycle Strength.

Akane Rin Awakening Guide
Akane Rin's core kit already works at A0, including Overtone, Reverb Field, String Energy, and Synced Resonance.
If you are not planning heavy investment, A0 is already enough to build and play her properly.
A1 — After-School Tabs
Akane Rin's CRIT Rate increases by 12%.
Each successful Synced Resonance also restores HP equal to 100% of her Base ATK.
This gives her both an easier CRIT setup and extra sustain, making A1 a comfortable first stopping point for lower investment.
A2 — Window Capo
Enemies affected by Overtone:
All RES -7.5%.
The active character inside Reverb Field:
DMG dealt +12.5%.
Both single-target and AoE setups benefit, making this a straightforward damage upgrade.
A3 — Shade Capsules
When Rhythm Wave is pressed to inflict Overtone, its DMG Ratio increases by 150%.
Reverb Field gains:
- 25% larger radius
- One enemy-pull effect when Rhythm Wave is held to deploy the field
If you frequently fight groups, A3 noticeably improves the feel of her AoE setup.
Her 3-Awakening Resonance also grants:
Basic Attack, Redirect Skill, and Ultimate Skill Lv. +1, plus ATK +20%.
This makes the 3-Awakening breakpoint attractive for medium-to-high investment.
A4 — Headphone Static
After casting Synced Resonance:
ATK +16% for 10s.
This directly strengthens the next part of her damage loop.
A5 — Rehearsal Click
Further improves Basic Attack relay bonuses from Overtone and Reverb Field:
- Overtone: 32.5% → 50%
- Reverb Field: 36% → 60%
This is a direct upgrade to her sustained on-field damage.
A6 — Front-Row Supernova
Starlit Anthem additionally grants:
All allies deal 10% more DMG.
Her 6-Awakening Resonance, Counterpoint, also greatly improves String Energy flow:
- Enter battle with full String Energy
- Refund 10 String Energy after each Synced Resonance
- CRIT DMG +50% for 25s after casting Synced Resonance
At this level of investment, Akane Rin gains a much smoother Synced Resonance loop, stronger burst, and additional team value.
Akane Rin Best Teams
Akane Rin is a Lakshana Main DPS with Remora enhancement, so her most interesting team directions currently revolve around Stain teams with Psyche units, plus teammates that can support Esper Cycles, damage, or survivability.
The most obvious pairing right now is:
Akane Rin + Blackbird
Akane Rin leans into Remora, while Blackbird enhances Stain. Their elements and passives naturally complement each other. If your Blackbird is not built yet, check the full Blackbird build guide first.

|
Akane Rin |
Blackbird |
Zero |
Iroi / Hathor |
For now, you can consider:
Akane Rin + Blackbird + Zero + Iroi
This version leans more toward a complete rotation with added sustain.
Another option is:
Akane Rin + Blackbird + Zero + Hathor
Akane Rin has not officially released yet, so these should still be treated as pre-release team ideas. Whether Blackbird is truly her best Sub-DPS and what the final two slots should look like will need live testing.
Akane Rin Rotation
The main difference between Akane Rin's single-target and AoE rotations is whether you use Overtone or Reverb Field.
Single Target / Boss
Recommended rotation:
Sonic Boom Q1 → press Rhythm Wave to apply Overtone → build 30 String Energy with Basic Attacks → Synced Resonance → continue Basic Attacks → manually cast Q2 during the latter half of Solo Cadenza
Opening with Q1 activates Starlit Anthem's 20% DMG bonus before the main damage loop.
While Overtone is active, keep using Basic Attacks to build String Energy and cast Synced Resonance whenever you reach 30.
Remember to cast the second Ultimate stage during the latter half of Solo Cadenza.
AoE
Against groups, switch to:
Sonic Boom Q1 → hold Rhythm Wave to deploy Reverb Field → build String Energy with Basic Attacks → Synced Resonance → continue on-field damage → Q2
The main change is simply replacing Overtone with Reverb Field.
You do not need to memorize two completely different rotations. Check whether you are fighting one target or a group, then choose press or hold for Rhythm Wave.
Final Thoughts
Based on her current kit, Akane Rin has a very clear role: an on-field Lakshana Main DPS.
Overtone handles single targets, Reverb Field handles groups, and String Energy plus Synced Resonance provide her main payoff. Compared with Blackbird's quick-swap utility and coordinated attacks, Akane Rin is much more focused on staying on-field and dealing her own damage.
The biggest thing to watch is how well she performs with Blackbird once she is officially available.
If their Stain and Remora interactions work smoothly together, the second half of Version 1.4 could establish a new Lakshana/Psyche core. If you already have Blackbird, this is the first pairing worth testing.
If you plan to pull Akane Rin, pick up her signature Arc Far Side of the Moon, or chase more Awakenings, check your Annulith and pull count first. If you need more Riftcrystal, you can top up Neverness to Everness on Mone and plan your character and Arc pulls around your own budget.
